Governing Body Constitution
First Governing Body of Govt General Degree College Chapra has already been constituted on 12th June 2023. As Govt General Degree College Chapra is a direct Government College Under Higher Education Department, Govt of West Bengal, therefore, prayer letter sent to the Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education Department, Govt of W.B. for Approval to constitute its first Governing Body on 12/06/2023 vide Memo no. 116/23/CGC. Once it is approved by the Higher Education Department, the GB will start its functioning.
Present Governing Body consists of 10 (ten) members with the Sub-Divisional Officer Krishnanagar Sadar acting as the President of it. As per G.O. no. 304-Edn(A)/10M-44/95 dated 22/05/1995, SDO of Krishnagar Sadar had been nominated by the District Magistrate of Nadia District vide his memo no. 400 dated 04/04/2022. As per the above mentioned G.O., Principal is the Member Secretary which will be approved by the Higher Education Dept., Govt of West Bengal. Executive Engineer, Social Sector, P.W.Dte, Krishnagar Division had been nominated as a member, two teachers’ members nominated by the Teachers’ Council, One Non-teaching Staff had been nominated by their meeting, two Vice Chancellor/University nominees were also nominated by the Vice Chancellor and finally two Government nominees will be nominated by Higher Education Department, Govt of West Bengal. Finally all these members will be approved by the Higher Education Dept., Govt of West Bengal. Tenure of the G.B. is Three Years from the date of approval by the Higher Education Dept., Govt of West Bengal.
